Watching ‘Dr Strangelove’, you remember watching it with a friend 25 years ago, how it made you laugh doing impressions of Peter Sellers. You think of the past, the old relationship and wonder how you lost touch? The relationships you had that at a certain point fall away into the flow of time past. You realise they are behind you. You feel the nostalgia for the past, for the time that can’t be reclaimed. There is a kind of grief in it, for people, time and places lost that becomes poignantly woven into the present.
